The Grim Twins of Diabetes and Heart Disease
Diabetes and heart disease are common problems happening to people in their middle age. Therefore, if you are approaching middle age and worried concerning your health, you need to study these "grim twins". First, let's explore the diabetes factor. You are wrong if you think that you will consider diabetes factor when it is congenital or present at birth only. In reality, type-two diabetes can happen to anyone at anytime. Unhealthy diet, which causes overweight and obesity, is the main source of type-two diabetes. In present time, many people consume junk food without control, and of course junk food contains lots of sugar. This excessive consumption of sugar will make a considerably weight gain and the increase of the sugar blood level, which in the end, will get you type-two diabetes. The second factor is heart disease. The causes of heart disease usually come from being overweight or genetics. If you have diabetes and heart disease, perhaps it will do well if you check the health condition of your parents and grandparents. Heart disease, diabetes, and high cholesterol usually have existed genetically many years back in your family tree. Some people are wondering where the heart disease comes from because they do not have any family member who has it. Actually there are many sources of heart disease, and the interesting part is the correlation that exists between diabetes and heart disease. This is true especially for type-two diabetes. When people get type-two diabetes due to excessive consumption of junk food, usually heart disease will follow as well. Generally, high cholesterol is the main cause of heart disease. The source of high cholesterol is the consumption of fatty food. This fat will be absorbed into the blood stream and deposited in the arterial walls. Over the time, the arteries become blocked and the person will need a bypass surgery. I always say that prevention is much better than to cure. If you want to avoid diabetes and heart disease, the simplest thing you need to do is leading a healthy lifestyle. Control your eating habit and consume food with low sugar and cholesterol. Do not forget to be physically active. Taking a walk in the park or walking instead of using your car helps you maintain your health (as well as good for the environment). So, do you want to have a healthy future? Then start living healthy from now before it is too late.
