The Connection between Stress and Heart Disease

Physical stress and heart disease

Emotional stress and heart disease

When people talk about stress, usually what they mean is emotional stress. The connection between emotional stress and heart disease is much stronger compare with the first type of stress. Emotional stress, especially when it is severe, has huge potential threats in term of heart disease as well as other illnesses.

Many research and studies found a strong connection between emotional stress and heart disease. Emotional stress is considered as one of main factors that can make early death. For example, when someone has just experienced a huge shift in life, perhaps losing someone who is dear to them, he or she has a tendency to have high risk of death occurrence.

The strong connection between emotional stress and heart disease happens because emotional stress produces the surge of adrenaline. This adrenaline makes the blood easier to get clots. Of course, blood clotting can block your blood vessels and create coronary problems, which may lead to heart attack.

How to relieve stress

There are many ways that can be used to reduce and relieve your stress. If you know your source of stress, perhaps it is best if you remove yourself from it. For example, if you feel unhappy in your current workplace, consider to move to other companies or discuss the situation with your boss. When your stress level is very severe, you can consult with your doctor. Perhaps medications are necessary to reduce your stress. A healthy life style is said can help to reduce your stress level. If you have healthy lifestyle you will protect yourself from the potential threats of stress and heart disease.
